Who we are
Pump Chump is a tongue-in-cheek micromobility advocacy project at
pumpchump.org. This note explains what data we collect and what we do with it.
What we collect
- What you give us. When you take the pledge, we collect your
email address and, optionally, a name (or your “chump
alias”). That’s it. We don’t ask for anything else.
- Basic technical logs. Like nearly every website, our host records standard
request data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to serve and secure the
site. We don’t use this to build a profile of you.
- No tracking, no ad cookies. We don’t run third-party advertising or
analytics trackers, and we don’t set tracking cookies.
Why we use it
- To send you the newsletter you signed up for — roughly one email a week.
- To operate, secure, and improve the site.
- To reply if you contact us.
Who else touches it
We use a couple of trusted services to run things. They process data on our behalf and are not
permitted to use it for their own purposes:
- Buttondown — our email newsletter provider. Your email (and name, if
given) is stored there so we can send the newsletter. See Buttondown’s own privacy
policy at buttondown.com/legal/privacy.
- Cloudflare — our hosting and content-delivery provider, which serves
the site and handles the technical logs noted above.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link. Use
it and we stop emailing you.
- Access or delete your data. Email us at
hello@pumpchump.org and we’ll show you what we have or delete it.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their
personal information.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the little data we hold, but no method of transmission or
storage is ever 100% secure.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the “last updated”
date above.
